Just over a hectare for this Auxey-Duresses 1er cru, on two of the most beautiful plots of the appellation: the Breterins, facing south, on white soils, giving a lot of fruit to the wine, and the Duresses, south-east, on brown clays, bringing tannic density. We are also on higher altitudes than in Pommard, giving fresher balances, chiselled and sapid wines. The 2007 will be splendid with a piece of veal, accompanied by a few mushrooms, the freshness and acidity of the wine responding to the texture of the meat, which is both tender and “weaved”…
