Fabien Duperray’s wines are unique in Beaujolais. After 20 years criss-crossing the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune, Fabien Duperray has taken the step of buying vines and the challenge of showing that on the great terroirs of Beaujolais it is possible to make wines of a level comparable to the most crus of Burgundy or the Rhône . The selection of plots was uncompromising, The work of the vines is put in the foreground with biodynamic cultivation, very small yields (less than 30hl/ha) on very old vines. An optimal harvest, without destemming, gentle fermentation on indigenous yeasts, then a 2-year long ageing. In the end, wines marked by pebbles, granite, wines without any of the fermentative aromas of Beaujolais, but on a cherry, a magnificent morello cherry.

Moulin-à vent Les Michelons 2010
Bettane & Desseauve commentary:
Big tannic power, we’ll wait a little bit for it but its full-bodied notes give it an imposing flight on the finish. What a freshness in the tannin! Rating: 17.5 Peak: 2016 to 2026
