The Côt cuvée is made from old vines in Côt, also called Auxerrois, the king grape variety of … cahors. In the Loire Valley, when it is well worked (and this is the case at Clos Roche Blanche), it gives wines of good density, with a tight tannin structure while keeping the freshness and finesse of Loire wines. In beautiful vintages such as 2005 or 2009, this cuvée will evolve pleasantly over 5 to 6 years. It is a perfect wine with calf’s liver, meat in sauce.
