Domaine Belluard’s 2014 Feu is made from the Gringet grape variety, an old autochthonous grape variety from the Arve valley in Haute-Savoie. A late-ripening grape variety that does particularly well on the slopes of Ayse at an altitude of 450 metres. The hillside is south-east facing with a soil composed of glacial waterfall sediments (red clay loaded with iron alumina). The steep slopes of 40% and the controlled yields  (35 hl/ha) make it possible to obtain, with the help of a very careful viticulture, a perfect ripeness of the berries. Vinification is done gently with pneumatic pressing and fermentation on indigenous yeasts. 60% of the wine is aged in egg-shaped concrete vats. Light filtration before application and gentle suffition (-30mg of total SO2)

This wine has a very fine aromatic palette, which is expressed in slight diffuse touches, from floral to white peach, a nose that does not impose itself, but which calls you by its restrained fullness. The palate is in its image, built on the texture of the wine, more than on its motif. The structure is splendid, with white fruit and flavours of mountain torrents, rock water, the finesse of the clays is fully expressed in the radiance of the wine!
Very nice bottle to drink with beautiful fish, or pike dumplings!
